How to restore a CCM configuration backup

The following article provides information on how to restore a backup of the Contact Center Management configuration.  The backup would include configuration items such as Employees, Agents, Agent Groups, Queues, security roles, and Call Accounting.  The backup can be restored on the same CCM version as it was created or higher.


** Please note that in our 5.8 release, restoring a backup from a client will be impossible. You will be required to perform the task from the CCM server. **

  1. Launch the Contact Center Client from the server or client (Start=>All Programs=>Mitel=>Contact Center Client)

  2. Login with an administrator account or one with permissions to access the Management Console

  3. If you do not see the Management toolbar, select View=>Management

  4. Click the Management button on the toolbar

  5. Click Configuration

  6. Click Back up/Restore configuration data

  7. Select Restore, click Browse and locate the backup zip file (which contains an XML) and click Next

  8. Once the backup has been restored, it will display the following message

  9. Click Yes and the Contact Center Client will restart
