View Direct Media environment: Softphone audio may be delayed on startup

INFORMATION

In a View Direct Media environment, on the very first start of softphone, a number of files (approximately 10MB) need to be downloaded from the Desktop PC to the Local PC.  During this time the softphone will be in service (able to originate and receive calls) but the user will not be able to hear tones, such as ringing.

This will occur once for each user, and the length of time is dependant on the network connection available.  In an office environment it could take 30 seconds, or for a remote use connecting from home it could take several minutes.

Once a user has completed this download, the softphone should respond normally without the delay from that point forward.
