6.0.2.0 - YourSite Explorer throws error if searching for name with apostrophe

Article ID:  - Last Review: January 8, 2013

PROBLEM

When searching for a device in YSE whose name contains an apostrophe, YSE will throw a communications error like the following:

A communication error occurred with the server. Ensure the server is running. Dataportal.Fetch failed (Incorrect syntax near 'flynn'. Unclosed quotation mark after the character string'))ORDER BY LastName ASC '.)

WORKAROUND

Search for a portion of the name without the apostrophe.

For example:  Instead of searching for O'Reily try searching for Reily.

RESOLUTION

We aim to have this issue resolved in our upcoming Atlantic release.

Internal reference number (TFS) 97652

APPLIES TO

6.0.2.0

Keywords: YSE error apostrophe
