Service memory usage climbs slowly after manual configuration change

PROBLEM

After making a manual configuration change to a services .config file, the service's memory usage climbs over time. 


CAUSE

If the configuration file is edited and one of the brackets is not closed properly, it can cause the service to generate excess errors which will gradually increase the memory footprint.  



BEST PRACTICES

When modifying any .config file, you should make a copy of the original as a backup.
