HowTo - Optimize IVR Routing Server performance under VMWare

Article ID: 52109 - Last Review: February 7, 2014

INFORMATION

The default configuration of VMWare allows for resources of the HOST system to be shared with the individual GUEST systems. IVR Routing is a real-time system that interfaces with the real-time functions of the Mitel 3300 phone system. VMWare resource sharing has a negative effect on IVR performance and as such if you intend to host your IVR server, be it a local or remote IVR instance, you *must* adjust the VMWare resource allocations to ensure the IVR VMWare instance has high priority access to the necessary CPU cycles.

The screenshot below demonstrates how to configure your VMWare server to give the IVR VM instances the increased priority and dedicated system resources.
